Founded in 1948 by Dr. Cosme de Campos Callado, the Abreu Callado Foundation is a Private Social Solidarity Institution that has in the agricultural and livestock activities instruments to support the financing, with emphasis on viticulture, which result in superior quality wines sold under the brand "Abreu Callado".
The work carried out over decades in the area of agriculture has led to the creation of a museum called the "Rural Museum Abreu Callado", whose collection consists of objects related to agriculture.
